Refund policy

Payments are handled by Paddle

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: Paddle processes the payment, issues the receipt and handles taxes. Refunds are paid back by Paddle to your original payment method. Paddle's own Checkout Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase.

14-day refunds

If Shoalmap isn't right for you, request a refund within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you additionally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal — nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

Renewal charges and requests after the 14-day window are reviewed case by case and are not guaranteed — cancel before the renewal date to avoid a charge you don't want.

How to request a refund

Fastest: in the app, Profile → Plan & subscription → Money-back refund — the button appears during the 14 days after your first payment, refunds it in full and ends the subscription immediately. Otherwise email hello@shoalmap.com from the address you signed up with (include the receipt number from Paddle's email), or reply directly to your Paddle receipt — Paddle's buyer support can process the refund as the Merchant of Record. Refunds typically reach your payment method within 5–10 business days.

Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel anytime in the app — Account → Manage subscription — or via the link in your Paddle receipt. Cancellation stops all future charges and takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep your plan's features until then. Cancelling is not the same as a refund: if you also want the latest charge refunded, see the 14-day policy above.

Switching plans

Upgrades apply immediately — Paddle charges only the prorated difference for the rest of the billing period. Downgrades are not offered: if a plan turns out to be more than you need, request a full refund within 14 days of the charge, or cancel and re-subscribe to the smaller plan when the current period ends.

The free plan

The Angler plan is free, needs no card, and never converts into a paid plan by itself — there is nothing to refund or cancel.
