Getting started

  1. 1

    Drop a pin

Tap anywhere on the map, search a place, or use “My location”. Shoalmap finds every named water around that point — lakes, rivers, canals and the sea.

  2. 2

    Browse nearby waters

The map automatically scans up to your search radius — 10 to 100 km, set in your profile. Each water gets today's catch odds (0–100%), scored by AI from live weather — temperature, pressure trend, wind, clouds and time of day.

  3. 3

    Open a water report

One tap opens the full report: fish species, best methods, baits, shore or boat, typical depth, season, and (on paid plans) per-species regulations with closed seasons and minimum sizes. Reports marked “Specific data for this water” are backed by real web sources; “General guidance” means regional knowledge.

  4. 4

    Get there

The “Directions” button opens Google Maps navigation straight to the water — the native app on your phone, the website on desktop.

  5. 5

    Make it yours

Save favourite waters (Pro); filter by fishing style, log catches with photo species-ID and get closed-season alerts for saved waters (Pro+). Language, temperature units (°C/°F) and the search radius live in your profile.

Frequently asked questions

What is Shoalmap?

A fishing-intelligence app: drop a pin and get the nearest waters, today's catch odds from live weather, and an AI report for each water — species, methods, baits and regulations — anywhere in the world.

How accurate are the reports?

Reports are AI-generated from real web sources where available. When a report is backed by sources about that exact water it is labelled “Specific data for this water”; otherwise it is “General guidance” for the water type and region. Always double-check anything that matters before you rely on it.

Are the regulations legally binding information?

No. Closed seasons, minimum sizes and protection status vary by country and water and can change — our data is indicative and is not legal advice. Always confirm with the local fishing authority and buy the required permits before fishing.

Where does it work?

Worldwide. Waters come from OpenStreetMap, so any named lake, river, canal, wetland or coastline on the map is searchable. Coverage quality follows the map: well-mapped regions give the best results.

What do the catch odds mean?

An AI assessment (0–100%) of how promising TODAY is on that water, based on live conditions: temperature, pressure and its trend, wind, cloud cover, precipitation and time of day. It is an estimate to help you pick a water — not a guarantee.

What's the difference between the plans?

Angler (free): waters within your radius, catch odds, 3 water reports per day, core species & methods. Pro (€10/month): unlimited reports, per-species regulations & closed seasons, saved favourite waters. Pro+ (€20/month): everything in Pro plus fishing-style filters, detailed baits & positions, AI insights for your style, the catch log with photo species-ID, and closed-season alerts.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Account → Manage subscription opens the customer portal (run by Paddle, our payment partner) where you can cancel anytime. You keep full access until the end of the paid period and there are no further charges.

Can I get a refund?

Yes — payments made within the last 14 days are refundable in full, no questions asked. See the refund policy or just contact us.

How do I install the app on my phone?

Shoalmap is a web app that installs like a native one. On Android, open the map and tap “Install” when the sheet appears (or use the browser menu → Install app). On iPhone/iPad, open the Share menu in Safari and choose “Add to Home Screen”. Installed, it opens full screen straight onto the map.

How do I change the language or temperature units?

Both live in your profile: four languages (English, Srpski, Deutsch, Magyar) and °C/°F for temperatures. The language switch also regenerates the AI text of open reports.

Something looks wrong — how do I report it?

Every report has thumbs up/down (the down-vote takes a comment), the account menu has “Report a problem”, and the contact form reaches the team directly. Feedback lands straight in our inbox and genuinely drives fixes.

How is my data handled? Can I delete my account?

Profile → Delete account permanently removes your account, saved waters, catches and usage data, and cancels any subscription — immediately and irreversibly. Details are in the privacy policy. Shoalmap is operated by SIGMAJUNCTION DOO.
